Learning to swim is a key life skill for any child. Swimming lessons teach them independence and allow them to get active while enjoying themselves.
It's never been easier to join our award-winning lessons. From children as young as three months old to adults of all ages, everyone can benefit from developing their skills and confidence in the water. Join online today and see where your journey can take you.
Children can learn to swim at all five of our pools across the district. Lessons are taught by our friendly and fully qualified instructors and we follow the Swim England learn-to-swim framework.
Lessons run all-year-round (school holidays included but not over Christmas and New Year), seven days a week at various times during the day.
You can pay by monthly direct debit and the price includes a 50% discount on a general swim at any of our pools.

Red Stars (helpers in the water) - children gain water confidence and familiarisation with the environment
Orange Stars (helpers in the water) - children begin to learn a variety of water skills and the four swimming strokes are introduced
Yellow Stars - children gain deep water confidence and work on their stroke technique
Green Stars - children focus on stroke development, technique and water safety
Become a lifeguard
Lifeguards benefit from varied working hours, which can easily fit around other commitments, the experience of working within a team, and the opportunity to progress within the leisure industry - most leisure managers start as pool lifeguards.
